Benno Wissing is considered one of the best graphic designers of his time and his work is everywhere from the Holland Festival,  PAM, SHV,  Makro, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and the signposting system still used at Schiphol Airport today. He was founding  partner of Total Design in 1963 in the Netherlands. After leaving Total Design in 1980 he accepted a professorial position at the Rhode School of Design in Rhode Island. Benno and Jannie fell in love with a home here in Bristol which is now known as The Wissing House.

Although Benno has passed, his work is now hanging in museums in the Netherlands, you may see some reproductions of his works hanging here and there at The Wissing House and via Bing images at BennoWissing.com. It is no wonder why so many writers and people in the arts make The Wissing House their home when in town on business or pleasure.
